The takeover of DBI Insurance by Cornhill subsidiary Pet Plan will not be referred to the Competition Commission under the provisions of the Fair Trading Act. The decision has been taken by the Trade and Industry secretary, Stephen Byers MP, in accordance with the recommendation of the Director General of Fair Trading. DBI Insurance is a subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali SpA.
