Insurers are offering a wider range of alternative and complementary medical treatments for pets, according to a report from Datamonitor

The report said that the new services were being added to attract new customers to the "increasingly competitive pet insurance market".

Treatments now covered by some insurers include hydrotherapy, acupuncture and herbal remedies. Datamonitor forecasts the pet insurance market will grow by more than 50% over the next four years.
