Three multi-insurer quote forms will be available when Polaris' i-market is launched in November. The X forms enable a number of insurers to provide a quote from a single standardised form.

The forms available are: shops, offices and hairdressing salons.

Polaris is currently developing a number of other X forms for commercial insurances. These are: property owners, tradesmens, commercial vehicle (vans) and pubs, clubs and restaurants.

Polaris UK marketing and strategy manager Phil Nunn said that an announcement would be made in the next couple of weeks as to when these additional forms would be available.

Nunn added that the company was looking at the possibility of developing an X form for commercial combined insurance. He acknowledged that there was a difficulty in constructing a standardised form for such a cover, but said that one would be made "if we can".

  • The launch of the i-market pilot programme has been delayed by one month until mid-November. This will be followed by a full version which will go live in December. According to Polaris managing director Martin McLachlan the delay was due to "rigorous testing".
