A survey of motorists by direct insurer Peoples Choice shows consumers are apathetic to looking for the best-value premium.

In a poll of 954 motorists who had telephoned the company for motor quotes, Peoples Choice found that 38% of those questioned said they had not shopped around at renewal time in over three years. Managing director Philip da Silva said: “We were surprised, especially when many of the premiums had risen well beyond inflationary rates.”
