Searching for a lost key can induce blind panic in small business owners anxious to open their premises for trade.

Privilege Insurance aims to ease this stressful experience for its business policyholders with Keycare cover.

The comprehensive protection package insures losses of up to £1,000 in return for a £10 annual premium.

For this Keycare provides a unique security key fob bearing a traceable personal reference number, telephone helpline number and a reward to anyone returning keys lost.

Other benefits of the scheme are £1,000 worth of protection for locksmith's charges or new keys, cover for up to three days of hire car costs and a 24-hour emergency locksmith assistance service.

Home, car or business keys can be attached to the security key fob.

Roger Snowden, underwriting manager for Privilege said: “The Keycare scheme provides our business insurance policyholders with the peace of mind of knowing that if their keys are lost or stolen they face the minimum disruption and inconvenience.”
