QBE has annouced two new appointments in its European operations...

QBE has made two key changes to its European management structure.

John Neal has been appointed to the new position of chief operating officer for QBE European operations. Neal will work alongside Steven Burns, QBE European operations chief executive, to oversee much of the day-to-day running of the business with particular emphasis on developing further profitable growth and diversification for the QBE Insurance Group in Europe.

Phil Dodridge joins the European board as chief actuarial officer, replacing Blair Nicholls who has returned to Australia to take on group head office responsibilities.

Steven Burns said: “We see ourselves moving into a new phase of developing QBE's already successful franchise in the UK and Europe and John Neal's appointment as chief operating officer will give a real focus to ensure we will deliver on these objectives.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
