Canopius promotes deputy claims head Fiona Sperry to replace him
QBE has hired Canopius claims head Mike East as claims technical director.
East will take up his new role in April 2015. He will be based in London and report to QBE’s claims director Dominic Clayden.
Canopius has promoted deputy head of claims and head of global specialty claims Fiona Sperry to replace East as head of claims.
She will report to Stephen Manning, the Lloyd’s insurer’s group chief operating officer.
Commenting on East’s appointment, QBE’s Clayden said: “I’m delighted to have attracted someone of Mike’s calibre and experience to QBE.
“His proven track record of managing high value and complex claims as well as implementing successful claims strategies will be invaluable as we redefine our proposition to put our clients at the heart of a market-leading claims service.”
Commenting on Sperry’s promotion, Canopius’s Manning said: “Fiona has been a key part of our drive to ensure we provide an outstanding claims service to our clients and brokers.
“In recent years, she has demonstrated her strong technical claims expertise and leadership skills and we are delighted to promote her to head of claims.
“Her appointment illustrates the strength of our team at Canopius and I have every confidence that they will continue to excel under her leadership.”
