Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has formed a new executive affinity team in order to grow the business by 50% within four years.

Three new roles – sales director, relationship director and commercial director – have been created in a bid to hit £600m in premium by 2010.

These positions will be held by Mark Allan, Andrew Elkington and Gary Davess.

Julie Hopes, R&SA affinity managing director, said: "We estimate that the current affinity market in which we operate is worth approximately £5.7bn, and will be subject to further growth."

R&SA said the affinity division, currently worth £400m in premium, would continue to offer bespoke support to its clients, from underwriting to full marketing support using the partner's brand. The insurer already has affinity arrangements with clients that include Lloyds TSB and Toyota.
