Royal & SunAlliance has said profit after tax rose to £238m, up 22% on 2005.
The company said combined operating ratio gained to 91.7%. Andy Haste, Group CEO, said: "We have delivered another strong result and have now achieved ten consecutive quarters of combineds that start with a nine.
He added: "We're building good momentum across the Core Group with targeted profitable growth in selected markets.
"We remain confident of delivering sustainable profitable performance."
