Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) will offshore 1,200 jobs to India over the next two years. The move is expected to result in cost savings in excess of £10m a year.
The move follows a six month pilot by the insurer in Bangalore.
R&SA said its expanded Indian operation would carry out front-line customer service and back office administration roles across both R&SA and More Th>n.
It said that no UK sites would be closed as a result of the announcement, but could not rule out redundancies.' See page 2 for a full report.
