Royal & Sun Alliance (R&SA) confirmed this week that its subsidiary More Th>n will start vehicle inspections as a condition of issuing some motor policies.
Last year, R&SA began running a vehicle inspection pilot on its motor lines in conjunction with vehicle security specialist Toad.
Under the scheme, R&SA customers are placed on cover subject to their vehicle being inspected by a Toad engineer.
"We will be rolling out Toad into More Th>n's motor book," an R&SA spokeswoman said.
R&SA said that during the pilot 10% -15% of customers cancelled policies when they discovered that a Toad engineer would be visiting.
