I had my own experience this week where I received a renewal from Budget for home contents insurance at £198, proceeded to search an aggregator and found their variant for £130. On ringing up the advisor and not even telling them who my best price was with, just the figure, they got my renewal down to £135, same underwriter on a like for like basis as the previous year. If this is widespread the insurance business is doing nothing but damaging its reputation by not giving the best price first time every time on the risk information given.
