The General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) has launched its redesigned website to cater for growing interest in its role.

The site is already averaging 30,000 hits each day, from members, prospective members, insurance customers and the media.

GISC spokeswoman Catherine Nicoll said the website, at, catered to the specific needs of insurance customers for the first time.

“We've made the codes, the rules and the FAQs more accessible and searchable and for members and potential members,” she said.

“We've also added a new section called More Info for Members where there will be links to new information and services as these are developed.”
