Outgoing Lloyd’s chief executive looks forward to syndicate’s ‘continuing international success’
Outgoing Lloyd’s chief executive Richard Ward will become the chairman of Brit Syndicates on 1 February.
Brit Group chief executive Mark Cloutier said: “Over the past three years we have transformed Brit into a global specialty insurer and re-insurer operating solely through our Lloyd’s of London platform.
“Richard’s experience and understanding of the global marketplace is second to none and I am extremely pleased he will be bringing his great depth of experience and knowledge to Brit.”
Ward said: “Brit is evolving into a world leader in specialty insurance. Mark and the team have done a great job reshaping the business in recent years, and I very much look forward to playing a part in their continuing international success.”
The non-executive position has been vacant since June, when Nick Prettejohn joined the board of the Prudential Regulatory Authority.
Cloutier added: “I would also particularly like to thank those board members who have taken on additional board responsibilities during the past few months as we have carried out the search for a chairman”.
Ward will leave Lloyd’s at the end of the month after eight years.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
