A web-based system for dealing with vehicle salvage category disputes online has been launched by Universal Salvage.

The motor salvage company claims its system cuts administration costs for insurers by up to 30% and has been launched as the next phase in the development of Status, Universal Salvage's online vehicle control and reporting system.

Following a successful month's trial with Royal & Sunalliance, the system is now set to be rolled out across Universal Salvage's customer database.

It will let Universal Salvage's clients contact it through secure websites on disputes such as pre-accident values, categorisation queries and private plates.
