Underwriter Goodfellows has launched Shelter, an income protection policy that offers cover against the risks of unemployment and disability.
It is available to all UK residents aged between 18 and 64, regardless of occupation, who work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
The policy offers up to £2,500 a month of benefits. There is no premium loading on the basis of age, gender, occupation or smoking habits.
There is a choice of unemployment-only cover, disability-only cover or a policy combining the two.
Self-employed people, directors and proprietors of business will be covered if their companies cease to trade.
