Five employees accept London and Chelmsford roles

Exit, sign, leave, quit, resign

Six staff will be released by QBE when its Reading office shuts at the end of this month, Insurance Times can reveal.

The Australian insurer currently employs 11 staff at its office, of whom five have accepted new roles at its London and Chelmsford offices.

A QBE spokesman said: “Of the 11 people in Reading, eight were offered roles in London and Chelmsford and five accepted positions in these offices.”

QBE announced plans to restructure its south of England operation on Tuesday, resulting in the closure of its Reading office with the business being moved to its London, Bristol and Birmingham branches and a new office in Chelmsford.

The insurer said the shift in business would enable the company to build on its existing commercial and broker relationships.
