Eservices supplier, Idesk has won the contract to supply online technical and customer support for usecolor.com, a site aimed at the UK's 3.6 million small businesses.

Launched by Royal & SunAlliance, usecolor.com aims to help small business entrepreneurs with up to 25 staff members run their businesses as effectively as possible.

Services available on the site include professional advice on legal and tax matters. There is also the opportunity to benefit from bulk buying discounts.

Benefits available to subscribers of the service include free internet access. Connection to the net is at local call rate.

Customer support for the site is available around the clock, with Idesk having a dedicated usecolor.com contact centre.

Andy White, Idesk's group managing director, said: “We are really delighted to be involved with this prestigious project which underlines our position as one of the country's premier providers of online technical support and customer helpdesk services.”

The service went live at the end of July and White said there has been an increasing number of technical and non-technical support enquiries, such as “how do I reconfigure my equipment?”

“We selected idesk for its unparalleled experience in providing technical and customer support services to some of the largest financial institutions and service providers in Britain,” said usecolor.com's operations director, Roy Coutinho.

After a free promotional period, usecolor.com will cost customers £15 a month.

Additional services to be launched include web enablement, financial services and community forums.
