Yorkshire-based broker Smart and Cook group has expanded into the North East by opening an office in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Peter Newell, who joins the company with 15 years of experience in the industry, will head the eight-strong team that has been appointed for the new venture. His deputy is Phillip Harrison.
The team consists of five consultants and three administrators.
Smart and Cook's other offices are located in Harrogate, Skipton, Scarborough, York, Grimsby and Louth.
The Group employs more than 170 people and offers a comprehensive range of insurance policies.
