This Georgian silver candlestick is one of a set due to be sold at auction in London this month, which were part of a haul of antique silverware recovered by Gloucestershire police.

The Art Loss Register was able to trace the owner of the 21cm tall candlesticks by their distinctive 18th century rampant lion hallmark. They were insured with NFU Mutual for £14,000.

The candlesticks were stolen from the owner, an antique shop proprietor, in Gloucester in 1997.
