Legal packages
Broker Stuart Alexander has launched specialist packages for the legal and accounting professions. Launched in conjunction with AXA, LegalSure and AuditSure feature cover for building contents, employers' liability, assault and damage to goods in transit. The schemes also offer companies a protection against inflation, with all sums insured index linked to inflation.

Outsource tool
Cox subsidiary Boncaster has launched a scheme that enables brokers to outsource the administration of their personal lines business. The scheme - Insurance Services - offers brokers the opportunity to generate income from their personal lines and affinity scheme leads. The scheme also offers commission, which is negotiable depending on the volume and quality of the business generated.

18% drop at Scor
French reinsurer Scor suffered an 18% decline in gross written premiums (GWP) in the first half of 2003 to ¤2.1bn (£1.5bn). Reporting its latest results, the property & casualty specialist said the fall in GWP was due to the depreciation of the dollar, although GWP was still down 11% at constant exchange rates.

Axis income leaps
Bermudian insurer Axis Capital Holdings has posted its second quarter results, revealing net income for the quarter at £73m. Axis' net income for the six months ended 30 June rose 264% to £139.4m. GWP was £342m, up from £161m in the same period in 2002.

Move to the board
Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) group risk manager Julia Graham has been appointed chairman of insurance SunGard Availability Services' customer advisory board.
