Bloemers tripleBroker Bloemers & Partners said profit tripled during the 12 months ended 31 December 2003.The company, which specialises in D&O cover and professional indemnity cover, including medical malpractice insurance, posted profits of £76,406, up from a 2002 figure of £25,705.Operating profit grew from a loss of £8,220 for 2002 to a profit of £50,911 for 2003.

Aon Capital teamAon has formed a capital consulting division of its Aon Capital Markets subsidiary, to be headed by a former Heath Lambert Capital Markets team. Aon Capital Advisory will be based in London.The team, comprising Alastair Rodger, Lance Gibbins, Kevin Timmons, Tom Booth and Michelle Richmond, will offer a range of advisory services specifically tailored for underwriting and insurance related operations, said Aon.

Kinnect deputyLloyd's Kinnect chairman and head of business process reform Iain Saville has appointed Andy Brookes as his deputy.Brookes will be deputy-head of business process reform. He is an ex-colleague of Saville's from the Bank of England.

Bupa profits riseBupa Insurance announced pre-tax profits of £134.5m for 2003, up from £103.6m in 2002. Profit after tax went up 28% from £54.9m in 2002 to £70.5m.The insurer said gross written premiums for the year reached £2.3bn, up from £1.9bn in 2002. Claims paid by the company also increased, however, up from £1.4bn to £1.7bn.
