Reinsurance rates are remaining steady, despite the seemingly constant storms battering the UK.

Cooper Gay non-marine executive director James Kininmouth said current losses following hurricanes Charley and Danielle were well within industry loss estimates.

But he added: “If we see two or three more then it will start to bite.”

Industry sources said hurricanes would not prevent the general fall of property reinsurance rates.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
