Insurance IT expert Manjit Rana has suffered again at the hands of technology. Two weeks ago, Rana was left whizzing to all corners of the West Midlands as his in-car satellite navigation system led him on a merry dance.
This time, a stone chip shattered the windscreen of his Merc. Simple enough to get someone to come out and replace it, you might think. Only, Manjit's windscreen is a new hi-tech type that senses when it is raining and turns the wipers on, so it took rather longer than usual to track a specialist repair service down.
