Underwritten by QBE, Insurance Box will monitor driving behaviour of young people in Australia
The first insurance ‘black box’ product has been launched in Australia by Wunelli, the UK-based telematics solutions provider.
Insurance Box, which will be underwritten by QBE, is being offered through a company of the same name and is targeted at monitoring the driving behaviour of young people.
It will record whether a vehicle has been speeding or tailgating, which will help to assess future premiums, and whether a driver was at fault during a collision.
Chairman of Insurance Box Frank Peppard, said: “Wunelli has proven experience delivering telematics solutions to insurers in the UK, and we are fortunate to have access to its expertise for the launch of Insurance Box in Australia.
“Insurance Box is Australian-first technology that we believe will reshape the car insurance industry for the benefit of safe drivers and the wider driving community.”
In the UK Wunelli already works with eight motor insurers and brokers.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
