New job for former sales chief at Broker Network

Jo Thoy, formerly head of sales at Broker Network, has joined Norwich Union.

Thoy, whose new job title has not been disclosed, will report to Janice Deakin, the insurer’s corporate director. She is expected to work with smaller independent brokers as NU builds on its Club 110 offering.

A Broker Network spokesman said the company wished Thoy all the best in her new role. Her tasks at the network have been taken over by Nick Houghton, who was recently appointed to the new position of sales and marketing director for the network division of Towergate, Broker Network’s parent company.

In January, Towergate restructured the division’s board to incorporate other acquisitions.

Last November, Insurance Times reported on NU’s plans to overhaul Club 110 a year after its launch.

The club is for brokers that have an £800,000-£5m book of business. But NU has been looking at ways to get close to smaller brokers that fall outside the 236-strong club’s remit.
