The insurtech start-ups join 37 other technology companies on Tech City UK’s Upscale programme

Three insurtech companies are among a cohort of 37 start-ups chosen to take part in Tech City UK’s Upscale programme.

Upscale is a six-month programme of workshops, peer-to-peer learning and mentoring sessions aimed at helping start-ups scale up successfully.

The three insurtech start-ups that have been selected are Bought By Many, Neos and Zego.

-Bought By Many offers unique discounted policies to its members, based on feedback and data from its groups. Earlier this month, the insurtech start-up launched a travel insurance product tailormade for cancer sufferers and those with other serious health conditions.

Bought by Many’s chief executive Steven Mendel has commented: “Upscale comes at a great time for Bought By Many, as we extend our footprint into new insurance categories and new geographic markets.  We’re particularly excited about the support we’ll get with scaling customer and talent acquisition.”

Also joining the cohort is smart technology and connected home insurance start-up Neos, which Aviva took a £5m stake in last May. Neos also works in partnership with Hiscox and Munich Re.

The third insurtech start-up to be selected is pay-as-you-go broker Zego, which has also found backing from Aviva.
