Towergate is closing three small offices, resulting in a total of 12 redundancies.

The broking group has closed its offices in St Ives and St Neots, both in Cambridgeshire, today.

It will close its Peterborough office towards the end of April.

A Towergate spokeswoman confirmed the closures and added that they were “part of the normal course of office consolidation, where smaller locations would benefit from joining forces with local larger branches.”

In St Ives there will be two redundancies, while one staff member will relocate to Towergate’s Kings Lynn office.

In St Neots four staff have been made redundant, while a further four will relocate to the Cambridge office.

The six staff in Peterborough were offered relocation to Kings Lynn, but opted for redundancy.

In addition, Towergate will relocate its Lowestoft broking team to a new location in the town, and transfer the office’s back-office functions to Norwich.
