Pair linked to more than 300 suspicious accidents
Two men have been jailed for their part in a scam to swindle motor insurers out of £3m.
Ahmad Bolkhari-Ghahi, 24, and Hussein Hassani, 29, were in a gang that defrauded more than 20 insurers.
The pair were linked to more than 300 suspicious car accidents in London between 2005 and 2007. Most were crash-for-cash claims, in which road accidents are staged.
Both men were convicted of conspiracy to defraud at Blackfriars crown court in London last Wednesday.
Bolkhari-Ghahi was jailed for three years and four months and Hassani for four years. Both men have no known address.
The pair were caught after an 18-month investigation by the Insurance Fraud Bureau and City of London Police.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
