The world's largest reinsurer, Munich Re, has said it estimates that damage claims against it, after Tuesday's attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, would amount to around Euro1bn.
The company added that the scale of the damage would have a significant effect on its 2001 full-year net profit but would not affect its financial stability.
The insurer confirmed that it is well prepared for catastrophes, even of this dimension.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
