Philip Wilson to become chief underwriting officer for Global Life business.

Zurich Financial Services Group had announced the appointment of Philip Wilson to the position of chief underwriting officer for Global Life.

In this newly created role, Wilson will be responsible for the Global Life underwriting strategy, standards and processes for Life and Health globally. He will report to Mario Greco, CEO Global Life.

Wilson joins Zurich from AIG, where he worked for the last six years in New York and Hong Kong. Most recently he held the position chief underwriting officer, Accident & Health for AIU based in New York.

Prior to AIG, Wilson held a number of executive roles including national manager of Risk Protection for AMP Australia and general manager of underwriting and systems for AVIVA with responsibility for IT, Marketing, Finance and Underwriting.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
