History:NFU Mutual's roots lie in the first decade of the last century when seven Warwickshire farmers founded a mutual insurance company as an incentive for fellow farmers
to join the then newly-formed farmers' union.
Chief officer: Ian Geden
Biography: Geden became managing director of NFU Mutual in February 2002.
He began working at NFU Mutual in 1969, and worked as an inspector and in various branch roles, before being appointed marketing manager of Avon Insurance.
In January 1998, Geden became NFU Mutual general manager and was appointed as deputy managing director in February 2001.
