It’s a busy news day today with the release of Ageas’s motor results and Admiral coming clean at last on its referral fee income. Later, I’m off to Groupama to interview head honchos Lauren Matras and the more talkative Francois-Xavier Boisseau.


I’m in sunny Birmingham today, to meet with Perkins Slade and local Insurance Institute chair Matthew Green, before venturing into inner-city Aston to examine the whiplash epidemic.


Back in the office, and this year’s Insurance Times Top 50 Brokers shows that JLT is responsible for breaking the big three’s hegemony for the first time since 2008.


Bank Holiday Monday is spent watching a recreation of a medieval joust, which my five-year-old son thinks is even better than Richard Hammond’s Total Wipeout – praise indeed.


After the holiday fun, it’s back in the office to put the finishing touches to the first issue of September.
