As we are increasingly aware, motor insurance is being marketed by the major supermarkets more as a commodity to be purchased along with the usual weekly or monthly shopping. Provided the price is right the public are very happy to buy and even gain extra points on the loyalty card.

Thankfully, we in the broking industry have support from people like Phil Bunker of NIG, which has just introduced its guaranteed service standards deal. Just imagine telling your client that if the standards are not met on their claim, NIG promises to send them a £100 cheque after their next renewal. What a tremendous sales aid and added value to use on holding renewals and securing new business. Tell your clients, shout it from the rooftops and use this opportunity to show that using a broker is best.

Good on you NIG - we know who our friends are.
