Ace European Group has appointed Julian Elms as UK and Ireland regional D&O manager, a newly created post, effective from 1 November.
Elms' duties will include supporting the company's regional branch network and developing the D&O business, as well as having responsibility for all D&O underwriting activities in the region.
Patrick Drinan will become UK and Ireland D&O manager to support Elms. He will be based in London. Drinan will remain Ace overseas general underwriting officer for financial lines in addition to his new responsibilities.
Michael Furgueson, executive vice president of financial lines for the company, said the strengthening of the D&O team came in response to the increased demand for cover in the face of regulation and increased scrutiny.
