Allianz SE is in talks over naming rights for a football stadium in Brazil, according to a report from Reuters.

The insurer said negotiations with the stadium’s builders were “in an advanced stage” and a successful completion of the deal would add to the naming rights Allianz already holds for stadiums in Australia, Germany, England and France.

Allianz refused to confirm the size of the deal, but local media reports suggest it could cost as much as 300m reais (£98.2m) to secure naming rights for the stadium for 20 years.

The stadium in Sao Paulo will host matches for eight-time Brazilian champions Palmeiras as well as matches for the football World Cup being hosted in Brazil in 2014.
