James Macdonald-Brown joins Antares finance team

Lloyd's insurance business Antares has appointed James Macdonald-Brown to the finance team of Antares Managing Agency (AMAL).

He becomes project manager and takes up the new role immediately.

Macdonald-Brown joins Antares after a decade at Axa, where he was most recently business change manager.

Reporting to Richard Sutlow, finance and operations director, he will play a key role in the implementation of Solvency II and will monitor progress against development plans and Lloyd’s Minimum Requirements.

Stephen Redmond, managing director of AMAL, said: “James’ appointment cements the outstanding depth and breadth of expertise we have in place to deal with the planning and management of financial regulations and changes over the course of the coming years.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
