Former Marsh chief executive to replace Prudential-bound Paul Manduca

Bruce Carnegie-Brown

Aon has appointed Bruce Carnegie-Brown as non-executive chairman of Aon UK, subject to FSA approval.

Carnegie-Brown started his career at Bank of America, then moved on to JP Morgan Chase where he spent 18 years including roles as managing director, UK Investment Banking Group, chairman JP Morgan Securities Asia Ltd in Tokyo, and head of European and Asian debt capital markets.

Carnegie-Brown then spent three years at Marsh as UK chief executive, progressing to become chief of the EMEA business.

His most recent executive appointment was managing partner of 3i Group. He is also currently non-executive director of Moneysupermarket.com and senior independent director of both Catlin Group and Close Brothers Group.

Carnegie-Brown replaces Paul Manduca, who has become the new chairman of Prudential. He said: “I’m looking forward to joining Aon UK Limited and to working with a very talented management team to build on their continuing success serving clients in the UK.”

Aon UK chief executive Rob Brown said: “I’m delighted Bruce is joining Aon UK Limited as non-executive chairman and I look forward to working closely with him. Bruce’s broad experience and in-depth knowledge of our market make him an ideal chairman for Aon.”
