Amlin does not anticipate that its results for 2004 would be materially affected by the Asian earthquake and tsunami.
The underwriter said reliable insured loss estimates were unavailable at present. It added that it had received few loss advices.
It said that it has some exposure in the region, but this was not a major part of its portfolio.
Amlin also said its net estimate of the impact of hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne together with Typhoon Songda remains "materially unchanged" from that announced previously.
In October, the insurer said it expects gross claims for the year from hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne, and from typhoon Songda will hit $263m but will be reduced to $133m after reinsurance.
