Broker systems provider New Millennium Technologies (NMT) is expecting to double its user base this year. It said the launch last October of its application service provider (ASP) model had helped to boost the database.

Director Paul Matthews said he expected the user base to hit 250 by the end of this year. He attributed the model's success to its ability to let brokers work with larger amounts of information over the internet.

"Brokers can load rates immediately with no time lag and bigger files can be held. There is no six-week delay in getting rates to the market."

Tony Withers, who spent eight years as a key account manager for CSC, has just joined the company as sales executive.

NMT has recently increased its sales force because of the interest in the ASP model.

Matthews said the system also took money out of the chain, as there was no need for the broker to invest in hardware.

"We host the server at our site, so all the broker needs is a browser," he said.

Matthews said NMT was now planning to expand and had secured some new alliances which it was not yet ready to announce.
