Aviva to streamline its UKGI underwriting, policy administration, and claims management operations


Aviva has appointed software provider Guidewire to supply its new commercial lines underwriting and policy administration and claims management systems.

The insurer will also use the PolicyCenter solution for its rating and reinsurance management.

Aviva said it was seeking to replace its existing claims and policy systems with one overall platform that would streamline its underwriting, policy administration, and claims management operations for its UK general insurance operations.

The insurer said it was looking to increase its business agility and bring new products to market more quickly to help meet its IT and business goals.

“Finding the right partner to help us consolidate our existing underwriting, policy administration, and claims systems played a significant role in the selection process,” said Aviva UK general insurance chief information officer Malcolm Simpkin. 

“We are excited about the possibilities PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter will bring,” he said. “This new technology platform will play a key role in enabling us to deliver on our broker strategies and realising our ambition to be number one for brokers.

“The Guidewire platform will streamline the decision making process, meaning we will be more responsive and brokers will benefit from clearer and quicker decisions.”
