School that came with RAC sold as a non-core business

Aviva sold the £36m British School of Motoring and its subsidiaries, bought along with the RAC, to German firm Arques Industries AG.

Aviva's UK general insurance CEO, Igal Mayer, said: "This sale is part of our on-going programme to transform our UK general insurance business through an increased focus on our core insurance and vehicle breakdown activities, allowing us to provide a first-rate service to our customers. I'm delighted that we'll continue to have a working relationship with BSM in the future through a long-term arrangement to market our insurance products to BSM's customers."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
