Bishopscourt Affinity Solutions (BAS), an insurance broking service provider, has offered its web-based travel insurance product, AllClear Plus, to insurers for customers who fail their medical screening criteria.

BAS said the product would suit people who have struggled to obtain suitable travel insurance because of a medical condition.

BAS chairman Laurence Law said: "In almost all cases we are able to quote a premium - even where the customer has a very serious or even terminal illness.

"Moreover, the insurance package available will be much better able to meet special medical and personal requirements than other less specialist policies."

The product, which is underwritten by Optimum Underwriting acting as agents for Groupama Insurance, was launched 18 months ago.
