G F Bennett (Holdings), which trades as Bennetts, has bought Hillingdon-based commercial insurance brokers, Martin Clarke Insurance in a further addition to its business interests in the South.
The region's commercial insurance business will be transacted in the name of Martin Clarke Insurance Services and the firm will be a sister company of Pratts Insurance Office which concentrates on personal lines insurance.
Martin Clarke has premium income of £1.2 million annually of which 65% is commercial related.
Together the two brokerages will contribute around £5.5m of premium income to the Bennetts Group. Bennetts anticipates that jobs will be created as a result of the Martin Clarke purchase while the directors will retain senior positions.
