The Underwriter Insurance Company, which launched last year with backing from Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, has been given an
A- (excellent) rating by AM Best.
In 2000, the company benefited from a cash injection of £26m, which enhanced its underwriting capacity. It also achieved positive net income, two years earlier than forecast.
The company specialises in public, em-ployers and professional liability insurance.
