Hiscox Retail, meanwhile, remains ’on track to deliver 9% constant currency growth for the full year’, says chief executive
Hiscox UK has revealed that its insurance contract written premium (ICWP) grew by 11.1% in the last year.

In a trading update published today (3 November 2026), the specialist insurer reported that its UK business had secured £603.1m in the nine months to September 2026, up from £543.1m during the same period in 2025.
Growth was driven by the digital direct business, which reported double-digit growth in the first nine months of the year, while new business increased by around 40% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, its art and private client (APC) business also achieved its ninth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth.
Hiscox said growth in the last nine months was volume-based and driven by continued investment in its brand, successful execution of sector strategy and deployment of new technology.
Building on ‘strong momentum’
Across the wider group, Hiscox Retail’s ICWP increased 9.1% in constant currency to $2.25bn (£1.68bn), compared with $2.01bn (£1.5bn) during the first nine months of 2025.

Contributing to a third of retail premiums, the insurer’s retail digital partnerships and direct (DPD) business achieved double-digit growth over the last nine months.
Aki Hussain, chief executive at Hiscox, said that the firm remains “on track to deliver 9% constant currency growth for the full year”.
He continued: “The pace and quality of our execution continues to drive growth and returns across the group.
“In retail, momentum continues to build, supported by targeted management actions as well as strong new business formation trends. Distribution opportunities won over the last few years are maturing and our new product propositions are gaining traction.
“Our change programme is transforming Hiscox into a more efficient and scalable business, unlocking greater synergies across the group. We remain focused on returns through dynamic capital allocation and proactive cycle management. With a vast structural opportunity ahead of us in retail and a proven track record of execution, I am confident we are well positioned to build on our strong momentum.”
