Biba has joined the ranks of industry bodies seeking an investigation into the mis-selling of payment protection insurance (PPI).

Biba stated it supported the Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB), which submitted a “super complaint” to the Office of Fair Trading earlier this week.

CAB claimed that industry regulations had failed to protect consumers, who were either paying too much for cover or could not make claims under the policies they had been sold.

Biba head of Technical Services Peter Staddon warned consumers to shop around when considering PPI because of the varying quality of cover and policies available.
