Navigators & General extended cover allows flood victims to live on boats

In response to the recent flooding across the UK, pleasure-craft insurers Navigators & General (part of the Zurich Group) is offering a free extension of cover which will allow flood victims to use their boats for residential use.

It will also extend personal effects cover by £5,000 for up to six months, while their homes are uninhabitable.

Standard pleasure craft policies do not automatically include permanent residential use, and limit personal effects cover to possessions used in connection with the boat only.

“We hope that this small token will help make things a bit less stressful for any of our customers wishing to move onto their boats

Richard Coleman, head of Navigators & General

Richard Coleman, head of Navigators & General, said: "We hope that this small token will help make things a bit less stressful for any of our customers wishing to move on to their boats.

"Policy holders simply need to call their brokers, or N&G directly, so that the necessary extensions can be made to their policy cover."
