Brit Insurance has appointed Tim Grant as distribution leader, small business and personal lines.

Grant joins from AIG, where he was profit centre manager for AIG Combined. Brit said he will lead the small business and personal lines distribution strategy, which includes further defining and implementing Brit Insurance’s electronic trading capability.

Commenting on his new role, Grant said: “I am excited to join a company that truly embraces the opportunities electronic trading provides, yet retains both service and the broker as the key components of its proposition.”

Tim’s remit will also include the further enhancement of Britbord, an exclusive binder facility that allows brokers to quote, bind and produce documentation online.

Simon Cooter, Distribution Director for Brit UK, commented:“Tim’s appointment underlines our commitment to the small business segment, and I am confident he will deliver market-leading solutions for our broker partners. Brit Insurance’s commitment to developing our small business proposition is further reinforced by the recent enhancements of Britbord. Our brokers tell us the facility is a key competitive tool for them in their local markets; Tim will be taking this forward to ensure it remains at the forefront of innovation.”
