Brit Insurance Holdings has announced the appointment of Kenneth Culley CBE as a non-executive director with effect from 28 February 2007. Culley also joins the audit and nomination committees.

Culley has been a non-executive director of Brit Insurance Ltd since 2000, chairman of that company since 2003 and a non-executive director of Brit Syndicates Ltd since 2004.

Culley was chief executive of the Portman Building Society, a director of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme from 2000 to 2005, and a non-executive director of JP Morgan Fleming Managed Income plc from 2000 to 2002. Ken is currently chairman of JP Morgan Elect plc, Marks & Spencer
Financial Services plc and 1st Credit (Funding) Limited.

Clive Coates, chairman of Brit Insurance, said: "I am delighted that Ken has agreed to join the Board of Brit Insurance. He brings a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to the Board."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
